Presentations are the moment where important stories are told, where complex information is broken down and great ideas emerge slide by slide. But the software used to create them is often limited and unintuitive – resulting in boring presentations.
Pitch is a new alternative to the presentation software we use every day.
Following a successful beta period that gained a host of loyal fans, they came to us with a challenge. They needed to evolve their brand to appeal to increasingly bigger companies, without losing love from start-ups. Finding a positioning that would speak to enterprise audiences externally, and provide alignment between product and marketing teams internally. Ultimately, elevating them beyond the category and fueling their growth.
We worked hugely collaboratively with the Pitch team, uncovering a strong ambition to change the way people and organisations build stories and share ideas. We learnt that Pitch was born as an antidote to the slow, painful, inefficient ways of working we’ve all experienced.
We also got to know the product inside out, shifting our workflow into the Pitch software so we could get a real understanding of what it felt like. As the world moved into lockdown, the necessity of Pitch and the magic of remote collaboration became more apparent.
Tapping into the pioneering spirit of the modern-workforce, we worked together to create a brand centered around the proposition of 'Present what's next'. It encourages users to turn inspiration into action. Keeping ideas moving across teams, platforms, and timezones to make them a reality. By relentlessly pursuing the future of presentation software, Pitch ensures the focus is always on the content that matters, not tools that get in the way. Armed with the insight that people wanted tools that help ideas to 'stand out, not blend in', we created a visual style that reflected this.
We got together with Pitch’s creative team and reimagined the humble slide as something much more dynamic, giving it the attention it deserves. Never still, these slides visualise the dynamism and progression of the ideas within. That's why they expand to reveal content, giving the audience a glimpse of what they hold. The surface of the slides ripple and refract as unformed ideas emerge from page to reality.
With this graphic language in place, the contents of the slides can flex over time; from the playful 3D illustrations they’re known for, to slicker renders with a more futuristic feel to shift the focus to enterprise. We worked with Pitch’s animators and designers to bring this to life, keeping each other on track and pushing what the vision could mean for the brand. We had open working documents, and presented work together during our weekly shares.
In photography we hero the creators themselves. Framing them with our slides, we bring them to the forefront and spotlight the exciting projects they’re immersed in. We’ve also got a succinct tone of voice which encourages tangible action. Less talking, more doing.
As elements of the toolkit begin to be made real, user feedback is already rolling in. And it’s been incredibly positive. Equipped with a strategic north star and an identity centered around the core of the product, we can’t wait to see how Pitch evolves – one slide at a time.
