Back in 2018 two of our brilliant DS alumni, Dervla O’Shea and Amelia Leuzzi, created and launched our first International Women’s Day event, Not Not Smiling - a platform that promotes and celebrates women, and those who identify as women within the creative industries.
In its first two years, Not Not Smiling took place in our London studio, as an intimate evening packed with people and positive energy. At each event we’d invite 3 amazing speakers with creative backgrounds across a range of disciplines, from fashion to feminist AI. Each would share their work, process and invaluable advice from their experiences within the industry.
However last year due to the pandemic, we took a different approach and moved the event online, as an IGTV interview series. Although we couldn’t come together and connect in person, or recreate Amelia’s infamous karaoke interval breaks, we were determined to continue providing a space to promote and celebrate female creatives.
This year we’re doing it again, but bigger and better, as Not Not Smiling goes global. This time our studios in New York and Sydney are also getting involved, as we continue with our IGTV series, welcoming a new line-up of incredible speakers from around the world.
Each year Not Not Smiling raises money for amazing charities that support women. This year we have selected three charities – one local to each of our studios. We look forward to sharing more information about the charities and how to donate very soon.
Keep an eye out on our Instagram! We will be posting an episode every few weeks, so stay tuned for some fresh creative content.
