International Women’s Day Panel
To mark International Women’s Day, we hosted an internal panel as part of our Not Not Smiling initiative which celebrates and raises the profile and voices of female and female identifying creatives around the world.
In the spirit of the 2024 theme ‘Inspire Inclusion’, we brought everyone together to educate, inspire and empower. It offered a safe space to discuss the barriers faced by women within the workplace and how we can best support those that identify as female both inside and outside the industry.
The event was held in support of Women for Women International, a brilliant charity that helps women survivors of war rebuild their lives. To raise money, we ran a cake sale full of delicious home-baked goodies.
“Unconscious bias exists. They can be hard to see when you’re not the one affected. We need to educate ourselves to start identifying those daily biases and discrimination. Learning to see them, and then starting to speak up.”
Emilia, Designer
“I see power as someone having the influence to empower those around them and give them a voice.”
Helly, Marketing Exec
“Education is so important for allyship. You can’t know how to support a group of people without first understanding that group and their struggles.”
Vinay, ECD
“It’s important that we have female leadership to ensure we have full representation at this level – a leadership team that reflects the diversity of the studio is essential to ensure we continue to pave the way for women now and in the future.”
Charlotte, Design Director
“It can take one person doing the wrong thing to break you down, but equally it can take one person being an ally to lift you up and make you feel seen.”
Designer
We look forward to continuing these conversations and exploring steps towards making some meaningful change.
